Overview

This workshop introduces wood engraving, a fine relief process using end-grain blocks and specialised tools. The focus is on precision, control, and tonal mark-making.
 

Session 1

  • Introduction to wood engraving

  • Tool handling and mark control

  • Image transfer

  • Beginning the engraving
     

Session 2

  • Developing tonal values and detail

  • Inking and printing

  • Proofing and adjustments
     

Outcome

Participants will complete a small engraved print and gain an understanding of fine relief techniques.

Scheduling
Studio workshops are conducted at flexible timings within the Studio's Operation Hours. Mondays - Fridays, 11am - 7pm.You may arrange your preferred timeslot upon sign-up, subject to availability.

Participants may continue printing through studio use after completion, subject to availability.
