Matrix Archive (Under Construction)

Matrix Archive documents the woodblocks (matrices) that underpin Zhang Fuming’s printmaking practice. Presented as a research-oriented record, this archive treats the matrix not only as a means of image production, but as a material object with its own visual and physical presence.
Entries include selected woodblocks across different bodies of work, with notes on dimensions, material, carving method, printing status, and related works where applicable.
The archive reflects an ongoing interest in process, repetition, subtraction, and the relationship between matrix, image, and space.
