Woodcut (Lino & Woodcut)

Overview

This workshop introduces relief printmaking through lino and woodcut. Participants will learn to carve, ink, and print their own images, developing an understanding of mark-making and translation from drawing to print.
 

Session 1

  • Introduction to relief printmaking

  • Image preparation and transfer

  • Carving techniques (line, texture, depth)

  • Starting the block
     

Session 2

  • Completing the block

  • Inking methods

  • Printing (hand-printing or press)

  • Basic troubleshooting and refinement
     

Outcome

Participants will complete at least one print and gain a working understanding of carving and printing processes.

Scheduling
Studio workshops are conducted at flexible timings within the Studio's Operation Hours. Mondays - Fridays, 11am - 7pm.
You may arrange your preferred timeslot upon sign-up, subject to availability. 

Participants may continue printing through studio use after completion, subject to availability.
